Empire Harley-Davidson Chili Cook-Off Official Rules

1. Eligibility:

  • The Empire Harley-Davidson Chili Cook-Off is open to all chili enthusiasts aged 18 and older.

  • Participants may enter as individuals or teams, with a maximum of two individuals per team.

2. Registration:

  • All participants must register online by [Registration Deadline].

  • Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of a completed registration form and payment of the registration fee, if applicable.

3. Chili Preparation:

  • Each participant or team is responsible for preparing and bringing a minimum of one gallon of chili for tasting and judging.

  • Chili must be prepared in advance and brought to the event in a crock pot or chafing dish to maintain optimal serving temperature.

  • Participants are encouraged to showcase creativity and flavor in their chili recipes.

4. Categories:

  • Participants can enter the general competition or choose specific categories, such as "Hottest Chili."

  • Judges will evaluate entries based on taste, aroma, texture, and presentation.

5. Event Timing:

  • Participants must sign in between 11 am and 12 pm on 01/13/24.

  • Tasting and awards will take place from 12 pm to 2 pm.

6. Judging:

  • A panel of judges will be appointed by the event organizers.

  • Judging will be blind, and judges' decisions are final.

  • Categories for judging include overall taste, creativity, and adherence to the chosen category (if applicable).

7. Prizes:

  • Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the general competition.

  • Special trophies will be awarded for the "Hottest Chili" and "People's Choice."

8. People's Choice Award:

  • Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite chili to win the People's Choice Award.

9. Conduct:

  • Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner.

  • Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in immediate disqualification.

10. Liability:

  • Participants are responsible for their chili entries and any associated risks.

  • Empire Harley-Davidson and event organizers will not be liable for any accidents, injuries, or losses during the event.

11. Photography and Media:

  • By participating, participants grant permission for their likeness and chili entry to be photographed and used for promotional purposes.

12. Changes to Rules:

  • Event organizers reserve the right to make changes to the rules or event details if necessary. Participants will be notified of any changes.
